How to Use

Nyoki! does one thing: see a mushroom, create a timer with one tap. On iOS that means a Shortcut in Control Center; on Android it means sharing a screenshot plus a floating countdown. You only set it up once.

App Store Google Play

iPhone / iOS

When you spot a mushroom in-game you don't have to quit the game, take a screenshot by hand and import it into Nyoki!. The 建立 Nyoki 蘑菇計時器 (Create Nyoki Mushroom Timer) shortcut does the whole chain for you: it captures the current screen → hands it to Nyoki! for recognition → creates the timer → deletes the screenshot.

Setup is two steps — install the shortcut, then add it to Control Center. You only do it once.

Install the shortcut

  1. Open Nyoki! and tap the stacked-layers icon at the top right of the main screen (between the heart and the gear) to open Shortcut Tutorial.
  2. Read “What is the Nyoki Shortcut?” and tap Next.
  3. On the “1. Install the Shortcut” page, tap Install Shortcut.
  4. iOS switches to the Shortcuts app and shows a shortcut card named “建立 Nyoki 蘑菇計時器”.
  5. Tap Add Shortcut at the bottom. That's it.
You only need to do this once

The shortcut stays in your Shortcuts app, so you can also run it from there later.

From the in-app tutorial to “Add Shortcut”.

Add the shortcut to Control Center

  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center.
  2. Tap the + at the top left to enter edit mode, then tap Add a Control.
  3. Type Shortcut in the search field.
  4. Pick the Shortcut control (the one provided by the Shortcuts app).
  5. Tap the control's “Shortcut” field and choose 建立 Nyoki 蘑菇計時器.
  6. Drag it somewhere you can reach with one thumb, then tap an empty area to leave edit mode.
Can't find the control?

Make sure the search field contains a committed word, not half-typed input. You can assign the same shortcut to the Action button or a Lock Screen control instead.

Add a Control → search for Shortcut → pick the Shortcut control → assign “建立 Nyoki 蘑菇計時器”.

Create a timer from Control Center

  1. In-game, open the mushroom spot so the remaining time is visible on screen.
  2. Swipe down from the top right to open Control Center and tap the 建立 Nyoki 蘑菇計時器 control you just added.
  3. The screen flashes once (the shortcut is capturing it), then the Dynamic Island expands with the countdown it just created.
  4. After a few seconds Nyoki! opens by itself, countdown already running. The Dynamic Island and Lock Screen keep showing it too.
The screenshot never reaches your library

The shortcut deletes it right after recognition. Recognition itself runs entirely on your iPhone — the image is never uploaded.

Tapping the shortcut flashes the screen (auto-capture), the Dynamic Island expands with the countdown, then Nyoki! opens by itself.

Android

Android keeps it to two things: the floating countdown shows the time remaining on top of your game, and share a screenshot sends it straight to Nyoki! for recognition. The in-app labels below are quoted from the English interface; system settings screens follow your phone's language.

Turn on the floating countdown

Once enabled, whenever you leave Nyoki! the timer that respawns soonest shrinks into a small window that floats on top of your game.

  1. Open Nyoki! and tap the gear at the top right to open Settings.
  2. Find the Floating window section and turn on Show floating countdown.
  3. Android jumps to the system page Display over other apps. Find Nyoki in the list.
  4. Turn on Allow display over other apps.
  5. Go back to Nyoki! and confirm the Show floating countdown switch stayed on.
Switch turning itself back off?

That means the system permission wasn't granted. Settings then shows a row reading “Display over other apps” permission hasn't been granted. Tap here to grant it. — tapping it takes you straight to the right system page.

Settings → Floating window → Show floating countdown → grant the overlay permission in system settings.

Share a screenshot to Nyoki! to create a timer

  1. In-game, open the mushroom spot so the remaining time is visible on screen.
  2. Take a screenshot (Power + Volume Down, or the capture button in your game's toolbar).
  3. Tap Share in the screenshot preview toolbar.
  4. Choose Nyoki in the share sheet.
  5. Nyoki! opens Import screenshot and starts recognition, filling in Spot, Capture time and Time remaining.
  6. If the numbers look right, tap Create timer. If recognition was off, nudge hours, minutes and seconds with - and +.
  7. Back in the game, the floating countdown is now running on top of it.
Sharing a few minutes later is fine

The capture time is read from the screenshot's EXIF data, accurate to the second. The countdown always starts from the moment of the screenshot, not from when you shared it.

Screenshot → share to Nyoki → automatic recognition → create timer → floating countdown over the game.

FAQ

The recognised time is wrong. What now?

You can adjust hours, minutes and seconds with - / + before creating the timer. For better accuracy, make sure the remaining-time text is fully visible and not covered by a finger or other UI, and don't scale or crop the screenshot first.

Are my screenshots uploaded?

No. Recognition runs entirely on your phone; images never reach a server. On iOS the shortcut also deletes the screenshot once recognition finishes. See our Privacy Policy.

The timer finished but I got no notification.

First check that notifications are allowed for Nyoki!: iOS under Settings → Nyoki! → Notifications, Android under Settings → Apps → Nyoki → Notifications. Battery saver or app-hibernation lists can also delay notifications.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Recognition and timing both happen on-device, so you can create and run timers without a connection. You can always add a timer manually in the app.
